Corporate Volunteering in Action: TIX.DO Team Joins Mangrove and Coral Restoration in Cabarete and Sosúa

On October 11 and 12, 2025, a group of 13 team members from TIX.DO joined Global Coralition and EcoSoluciones RD for a two-day immersive experience in Cabarete and Sosúa. Together, they planted over 1,000 mangroves, participated in coral restoration, and strengthened their commitment to environmental action through hands-on conservation.

On October 11 and 12, 2025, Global Coralition — through its operational hub in the Dominican Republic, EcoSoluciones RD — welcomed 13 collaborators from TIX.DO, a ticketing and experiences platform based in Santo Domingo.

The group participated in a two-day corporate visit that combined environmental education, fieldwork, and team building. TIX.DO has been a key supporter of our restoration efforts through the adoption of 1,000 mangroves and 100 corals, and this time, they came to experience the project firsthand.

Day 1 – Mangrove Restoration and Team Building

The experience began on Saturday, October 11, with a warm welcome lunch and an introduction to Global Coralition’s work and its environmental and community impact. Afterward, the group headed to the Cabarete Lagoon for an educational talk on the mangrove ecosystem — its ecological importance, its role in coastal protection, and the restoration strategies we implement.

The TIX.DO team then rolled up their sleeves and took part in planting approximately 1,300 mangroves, actively contributing to the regeneration of this vital ecosystem. This hands-on activity allowed them to connect directly with nature and understand the power of collective action for ecosystem recovery.

The day concluded with a team-building session at Playa Encuentro, designed to strengthen collaboration, communication, and shared purpose. As the sun set, participants gathered for a group dinner — a moment of reflection, bonding, and inspiration.

Day 2 – Coral Restoration and Marine Experience

Sunday, October 12, was dedicated to coral reef restoration. The day began at the coral laboratory at Isla Academy in Sosúa, where the group was welcomed by our coral technician, Melf. Participants attended a presentation on the ecological role of coral reefs, the threats they face, and the methods used for their reproduction and restoration.

The team then took part in a microfragmentation demonstration, preparing coral fragments and attaching them to cement bases, which were mounted onto a restoration dome. After completing the process, the group joined our dive team on a boat to Sosúa Beach. There, the dome was installed underwater next to the iconic Atabey Statue.

Participants had the chance to snorkel around the site, witnessing firsthand the installation and the surrounding marine environment. It was an immersive and transformative experience — one that connected them deeply to the restoration work they were helping make possible.

Results and Impact

The TIX.DO visit represented a powerful combination of learning, corporate engagement, and environmental action. Over two days, participants experienced both mangrove and coral restoration processes, reinforcing their environmental commitment and directly supporting the health of coastal ecosystems.

Their generous adoption of 1,000 mangroves and 100 corals made this restoration possible, strengthening a growing alliance between TIX.DO and Global Coralition’s marine conservation efforts. This impactful experience was led by EcoSoluciones RD, Global Coralition’s operational hub in the Dominican Republic, highlighting the power of local action for global impact.

A heartfelt thank you to TIX.DO for their support, enthusiasm, and commitment to ocean restoration. Together, we’re growing hope — above and below the surface.
