Hotel SeaWinds Joins Us in Mangrove Restoration in Cabarete
SeaWinds employees joined Global Coralition for a day of learning, planting, and action, restoring mangroves in Cabarete, Dominican Republic.
On Friday, September 12, 2025, Global Coralition and EcoSoluciones partnered with 18 employees from Hotel SeaWinds in Cabarete for a day dedicated to environmental education and hands-on action.
The experience began with an educational talk on the importance of mangroves, highlighting their crucial role in coastal protection, biodiversity support, and climate change mitigation. The session was followed by an interactive Q&A activity, where participants engaged in a fun and dynamic way to reinforce what they had learned.
The group then moved to a site along the Cabarete Lagoon, where employees planted mangroves and maras (exact number of seedlings to be confirmed). This symbolic yet practical action allowed participants to directly contribute to the regeneration of a vital coastal ecosystem.
To close the day, SeaWinds employees and the organizing team shared a communal lunch at the hotel, creating space for reflection, exchange, and renewed commitment to conservation.
The event was a powerful reminder that education combined with action creates lasting impact. Through teamwork, awareness, and active participation, the Hotel SeaWinds staff not only gained knowledge but also became part of the movement to restore and protect the Cabarete Lagoon.
